As someone with ADHD who has thoroughly bullied myself for years because of how excited I get to start projects and endeavors only to never finish them, and who has shamed myself into not even talking about OR WRITING IN MY JOURNAL about any time I want to start them (all the 75s, any kind of 30 day challenge, I even disallowed myself from making all forms of habit trackers at all, because “You never finish them you useless lump of daydreams, don’t even TRY to commit it to paper”), your words meant a whole lot to me! Please keep sharing! Please keep normalizing being so excited about starting something that you talk and journal and post about it!! Please keep teaching people that the excitement and joy of starting and planning IS worth something, regardless of how it ends. (I literally was bullying myself out of the FEELING EXCITED!!!!??? In THIS ECONOMY?!?!?)
The whole letter was fun and juicy and filled with so much amazingness, but the last paragraph sang to my heart. Thank you. My sister says my hobby is collecting hobbies. I think I just love learning new things, and I get excited about all the wonderful things in the world (even when times like now, when the world is on f*cking fire). Who says we all need to finish everything we start? Not you and not me. Yay us. 💚✨
